Music/Bands/Musicians

Old 97′s: this is a great band I discovered by accident. I bought a CD because a song title seemed like the one I was looking for. I turned out to be wrong, but ended up to be a great decision. I bought every CD they released and saw them in concert at the Green Room/Saw Mill in Seaside Heights.

Emmet Swimming: another band discovered the same way as Old 97′s. This band has had only one semi-hit with ‘Sunblock’. They disappeared after that from all radio existence. Give them a listen.

Straylight Run: i heard a song playing on 98.5 G-Rock called ‘Existentialism On Prom Night’. I sampled some of the other tracks and have been listening to the band since. Their new EP is great. The band has former members of Taking Back Sunday.

Primus: a band that is hard to describe. Most people either like them or hate them. I once listened to every CD they had straight through.

John Vanderslice: I heard him on the XM I got for Christamas ’05 and have now been listening a bit. Check him out.

Death Cab For Cutie: The band is really blowing up. Kudos

Xavier Rudd: If you like the Dave Matthews Band, give this guy a try.

Cake: One of the greatest bands of all time. They release CDs where every song on the disc is great

Placebo: I heard of this group from one of them free new music sampler. This one was all videos/VHS. I have since bought all their CDs and have come to respect the band musically. They have a distinct sound.
